BOAT DRINKS!

Two of the Parrot Heads of Port Aransas (Texas) members publish Gulfscapes magazine. They want to include a section on boat drink recipes and the best places on the gulf coast to get boat drinks. Please forward to your membership! Here's the blurb:

Gulfscapes, the premier upscale Gulf Coast living magazine, is paying tribute to that well known and cherished coastal tradition, the Boat Drink. And who knows Boat Drinks better than Parrotheads! We're searching for the best Boat Drink, so send us your recipes. We'll select the best and include the results in our Summer issue.

We're also researching the best Parrothead style bars along the Gulf Coast, so send us a list of your three favorite watering holes.

While we're at it, send us the name of your most interesting Parrothead, along with a description of why they're so interesting. We'll show them some love in an upcoming issue.

If you have questions, contact us at
Gulfscapes@gmail.com.

ABOUT US:

Pirates on the Panhandle (PoP) is a chapter of Parrot Heads In Paradise, Inc. (or PHiP).   For more information on PHiP, go to www.PHIP.com

The "ParrotHead Nation" ended 2009 with an all-time high of 237 chapters in the United States, Canada and Australia ... 3 different countries, 47 states, 3 Canadian provinces and one U.S. Territory. Our total membership showed another increase with almost 27,000 dedicated, fun-loving Parrot Heads amongst the ranks.

Even in the face of an economic downturn, Parrot Head Clubs collectively raised for and/or donated approximately $2.8 million to charitable organizations in 2009. Equally significant, Parrot Heads carried on the tradition of volunteerism as 2009 saw chapters worldwide donate an estimated 180,000 man-hours to philanthropic and environmental activities. The upshot … In the period 2002 – 2009, Parrot Head Clubs have collectively contributed more than $19.2 million and approximately 2.3 million man-hours to aid our communities, our environment and our fellow man!

PURPOSE

The purpose of our organization is to promote friendships and organize social activities for people with similar interest, including enjoying the lifestyle portrayed by Jimmy Buffett’s music.

Pirates on the Panhandle encourages its members to provide a variety of volunteer efforts locally, for community environmental causes and doing so with a social blend.  In the process of building new relationships with friends and family activities, we believe in leaving something positive behind as we “Party With A Purpose!”

M.A.F.I.A.:

Musicians Artists and Fans in Alliance

The Margarita Mafia was formed as a resource for like minded people who enjoy the music of Independent Trop Rock Singers and Songwriters.  The Margarita Mafia is not a Fan Club.  We are Artists, DJ's, Club Owners and Music Lovers, coming together to support and promote the TropRock style of music.

For more info on Margarita M.A.F.I.A, go to

M.A.F.I.A. website

It only costs $15 per year for membership, and that includes a t-shirt (plus $4 to mail).  You can then participate in all the M.A.F.I.A. group photos taken at nearly every Parrot Head event.

SPECIAL FEATURES FOR MEMBERS

We want to let you know about a special feature of our club website.  Members can log in and be able to use a number of features only available to members.

Currently, the only features available are being able to change/update your membership profile and to participate in the blog page.  In the future, we will let you know of new features.

Following is the process to log-in:

The first time a member wants to log in, you will need to use the email you put on your club application as the Email.  You will then need to click on "Forgot Password" and the system will send a temporary password to that email address.  Note:  If a couple provided only one email address on their application, they will only have access to one name that the email address is set up under.  The system does require an email for every name in the database, so we had to set up fake emails for the other name for entering  into the database purposes.

If you only provided one email and wish to add another email for the other family member, email our Membership Directors, Tim and Betsy Vincent, and they will be happy to update that name.  Their email address is:  PiratesMembership@hotmail.com   Let us know if you have problems with the database or don't remember what email you provided for the database.
